Ricardo Pinedo is a technical and manufacturing operations expert in the plastics field who possesses a solid command of the science and technology of films and flexible packaging as well as about the management of manufacturing operations.
Ricardo started his career in Colombia over 40 years ago in banking and the chemical process industry, before entering film manufacturing. The skills there developed allowed him to rapidly advance, upon arrival to North America over 30 years ago, to senior technical and managerial levels in Canadian and American film and flexible packaging manufacturers. Expertise he later applied in general management roles in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile
He has been highly successful at simplifying product portfolios from about 250 different recipes to less than 15 for reduction of material and time waste and increasing machine uptime.
He speaks in English and Spanish the languages of technology, product development, manufacturing process improvement, accounting, cost structures, strategy, and techno-operational due diligence.
He enjoys transferring knowledge, as a speaker at technical conferences in Latin American countries and as an adjunct university professor in the fields of cost accounting and finance.
